Leading through market disruption.
Beginning in 2024, Canada's international education sector entered a period of significant policy and regulatory change. Changes affecting international student pathways, including post-graduation work eligibility, created new uncertainty for students, partners, institutions, and international recruitment teams.
I worked through this changing environment by monitoring market signals and government developments, maintaining close communication with partners and regional teams, assessing changes in application and pipeline behaviour, and adapting market priorities and recruitment activities as conditions evolved.
The experience reinforced the importance of making decisions with incomplete information, communicating clearly during uncertainty, and being willing to adjust established strategies when the external environment changes.
Relationship-led. Data-informed. Cross-functional.
My role sat at the intersection of external partnerships and internal execution. I represented market and partner needs internally, translated feedback and operational challenges into recommendations, and used CRM reporting, forecasting, pipeline data, and market analytics to support strategic decisions. I also presented market strategies, forecasts, performance results, and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
